Star Light... Star Bright

I won't wish upon you tonight.
I don't mean to sound so impolite.
Your star just doesn't shine that special light.

I have made wishes upon you before.
All of my wishes you tend to ignore.
So another star, I will have to explore.

Star light, have you ever made wishes come true?
I mean to the people who think they are due.
Or is it to some people you must subdue.

Whatever it is, doesn't matter to me
From your star my wishes will flee.
On your star I will not waste my wishing spree
